He is the co-author of the “Atlas of Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery (VATS),” a textbook taught in many medical schools. Dr. Mahtabifard received in Bachelor’s degree from UC Berkley and his medical degree from New York Medical College. He completed his internship at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in New York and his general surgery residency at Massachusetts General Hospital of Harvard University.
Dr. Fuller is also a leading expert in minimally invasive thoracic surgery, specializing in lung cancer and lung metastases screening and treatment, esophageal diseases, chest wall tumors, and many others. Different online news outlets such as the NFL, CBS, Fox Sports, and the Bleacher Report have consulted him on sports related chest injuries. Dr. Fuller received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wyoming and his medical degree from Creighton University in Omaha. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Missouri and his cardiothoracic surgery residency at the University of Southern California, LA County and the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. He has also completed a number of other specialty programs at leading hospitals and universities. Dr. Fuller is a key investigator with the major oncologic trial groups CALBG and ASCOG. He also works as a consultant for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory’s Early Detection of Lung Cancer Project.
